ABANUNULE, the movie

ABANUNULE, the movie - full feature film with Home Again, Uganda's children and youth as the cast

About the director
Alex
Fournier is an up and coming independent filmmaker from Chanhassen, Minnesota.  He has a degree in Film Production from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.  He has a background in fine arts, specifically painting and drawing.

Alex's passion is filmmaking.  Writing, directing, shooting, editing.  Five years ago, when he travelled to Uganda for the first time, he started to develop future goals for his filmmaking career.  He knew his goals included filmmaking and Uganda.  The goal of the new company "World Changing Films" is to discover, develop, and market actors and filmmakers living in Uganda.

The company's first feature film, "Abanunule" ("The Redeemed"), is a foreign language film shot entirely on location in the city of Kampala, Uganda.

About the movie
The film follows the choices of an orphaned 17 year old boy living in a Boys' Home in Uganda as he falls back into a life of drugs and violence.  He struggles as he deals with being seen by the younger orphans as a father even though he never knew his own father.

Starring an all new cast of first time actors and shot in locations you've never seen before, the film brings hope and joy to the 3rd world and the 1st world alike.  Principle shooting started two and a half years ago and the film is in the final stages of post production now.  "Abanunule" will be released in Uganda as well as in festivals in the USA in 2008
